Pear Season 🥑

3/13/23

Another week has ended and another email has started.

This week was kind of weird. Monday night it rained super hard. I think I jinxed myself with my last email because the power went out that night for the whole night. We woke up the next morning and our bathroom was flooded with about an inch and a half of water. That also meant that the whole apartment smelled like a septic tank. No water, no power. We called some guys that came to weed the compound and take out our trash. They were supposed to fill our water tank, but I think they forgot. They came a few hours later and filled it though. As I'm writing this the tank is less than half way empty.

Wednesday was our MLC and it was fun. One of my trainers, Elder Okeke, goes home tomorrow to Nigeria, so we're all pretty bummed about it. Lunch was great though and I ate a whole pizza and some ice cream.

Right now it's Avocado season, but in Ghana they call them Pears. So I've been munching on pears the past few weeks. They don't really make them into guacamole or anything here, they just eat it raw. I've been eating it with bread though.

This week we also got transfer news. My companion was called to be AP. He is super nervous about it, but I know he is gonna do great. My next companion is Elder Christensen and he is from Montana. I am pretty pumped because I've always wanted to serve with him and he will probably be my last companion. That's crazy!

Well on Saturday we were doing some service for a member at the chapel. The phone was in my pocket and it started to get really hot. I took it out and found out that it had factory reset itself in my pocket. Which means we lost every picture, every contact, and every file that was there before. I had some great pictures from this last email, but I was only able to recover some of them. I lost all of my pictures from the last 6 weeks. Everything is temporary. 🤷‍♂️

Scripture of the Week
1 Corinthians 14:19 - "Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue."
